Wigan Jazz Festival ‘09 review/endorsement

Ian Darrington MBE, the Director of Jazz Performance for Wigan International Jazz Festival, gave us the following endorsement after we did two gigs at the 2009 festival:

“Straight on Red did 2 gigs for me at Wigan International Jazz Festival in 2009, and went down extremely well with the audiences on both occasions. They proved to be high calibre musicians, extremely well rehearsed with excellent presentation and provided quality jazz entertainment. They were also very accommodating and a pleasure to deal with. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending them to any other festival.”

Gig Update

In recent weeks we did our first gig at Biggin Hall, Coventry, where they host Coventry Jazz Club and went down a storm!! We’re hoping to return there very soon and will announce the date here. We also made a return to The Cross Kings in Kings Cross London just before Christmas and again hope to be back there some time in the Spring/Summer.

We’re currently on the hunt for summer festival gigs and hope to have some news on that around Easter.
